Hume Forests Limited (HFL) is an entity created by Global Forest Partners LP (GFP) in late 2004 to acquire and manage on a sustainable basis mature Radiata pine plantations in southern New South Wales. HFL currently owns and manages approximately 14,000 stocked ha of freehold plantations in the Tumut/Tumbarumba and Oberon Regions of NSW and continues to acquire additional properties.

HFL has continuous harvesting operations on its estate supplying sawlog and pulplog to domestic customers including Carter Holt Harvey (Tumut and Oberon), Visy (Tumut), Norske Skog (Albury), Allied Timber Products (Bathurst), Australian United Timbers (Burraga), Ausply (Wagga Wagga) and others. HFL replants all areas following final harvest.

 

 

     Gundagai Shire Council


gundagai1Nestled in the South West Slopes of NSW and comprising part of the lands of the Wiradjuri people, Gundagai Shire is located approximately half way between Sydney and Melbourne along Australia's busiest highway, the Hume.

The earliest migrant settlers can be traced back to the 1820s. The infamous bushranger, Captain Moonlight was captured at nearby Wantabadgery and is now buried at the North Gundagai cemeter.

Greater Hume Shire covers an area of some 5,939 kms2, and has a population base of 10,206 people. An amalgamation of the former Culcairn Shire, the former Holbrook Shire (except for an area of 19.2 km2 transferred to the Tumbarumba Shire), and approximately 81 percent of the area of the former Hume Shire, the new Council was constituted by proclamation on 26th May 2004.
The Council Corporate and Community Services are located in the Holbrook office while the Environment and Planning and Engineering, (or technical services) are located in Culcairn. Customer Service Centres are located in Henty, Walla Walla and Jindera.
